Non-Tech SMBs with Authority
Small and medium-sized businesses that are not tech-native, still make decisions with real authority, and need a partner who can move without multi-layer approval theater.
Beyond the Algorithm.
We map the friction, find the move standard advice misses, and deliver one measured win.
Vendor-neutral. Model-agnostic. Measured results — no hype.
Who We Serve
Small and medium-sized businesses that are not tech-native, still make decisions with real authority, and need a partner who can move without multi-layer approval theater.
Organizations stuck between promising experiments and real impact — losing business to AI-capable rivals, operating where peers have already moved, or sitting on proprietary data they cannot yet leverage.
Leaders who want practical outcomes, not strategy decks. We are vendor-neutral and model-agnostic — and the next step is a direct conversation to determine whether a Level 78 engagement is the right intervention.
The Arc
The highest performance emerges from dynamic tension between human creativity and machine-scale calculation — not from either alone.
Beyond the Algorithm
AlphaGo played a shoulder hit with ~1-in-10,000 human probability — creative, unconventional, and game-changing. AI proved it could go beyond its human guide.
The Divine Wedge
Down 0–3, Lee Sedol played a central wedge nobody had shortlisted. Commentators called it divine. AlphaGo's evaluation collapsed. The machine resigned.
Your Breakthrough
We engineer that same kind of move for your organization.
The Origin
In March 2016, the world watched the impossible unfold on a Go board in Seoul. After three straight defeats at the hands of DeepMind's AlphaGo, legendary player Lee Sedol faced elimination in a best-of-five match that had already been called for the machine. Then came move 78 — a central wedge of startling originality and low statistical probability. Commentators called it divine. AlphaGo's evaluation collapsed; it played poorly thereafter and resigned.
Level 78 Consulting was named for that exact moment. We exist to engineer equivalent breakthroughs for organizations: the improbable, context-shifting moves that reframe entire competitive landscapes. We do not pit human against machine. We create the conditions where their interaction produces results that were previously off the board.
Move 37 begat move 78, begat a new way of seeing the game.
Move 37 showed that AI could produce genuinely creative, previously unseen strategies. Move 78 showed that humans, when pressed by such systems, could respond with moves of even greater improbability and impact. Level 78 operates in that lineage — building the partnerships, tools, and interventions that allow leaders and their AI systems to co-evolve toward outcomes neither would have discovered alone.
The operational origin is more recent. In early 2026, a Silicon Valley PR firm asked for help understanding how AI could raise the capability of their team and operations — not merely accelerate existing work or follow the hype. The consultation produced unexpected strategic value: a concrete path to capabilities the firm had not previously imagined. That work led directly to the formation of Level 78 Consulting, LLC in May 2026.
The same pattern of finding friction and collapsing cycle times appears across nearly thirty years of prior work in semiconductor manufacturing and design automation — environments where multi-day or multi-week processes were reduced to minutes and throughput gains exceeded fifty percent. The tools change. The underlying judgment does not.
How We Work
We don't compete with AI. We complete it. Literacy is required. The wedge is the product.
Surface evaluations miss interconnected complexity. We map what standard playbooks and off-the-shelf models cannot see — with actual time, cost, and error baselines.
Name the move that was not on the shortlist.
Link previously separate threats and opportunities. Turn defensive positions into winning ones.
Human judgment to see it. AI-augmented systems to deliver it with velocity and consistency.
Legacy constraints, competitor assumptions, and stalled experiments become irrelevant when the wedge lands.
The Diagnostic
We begin with a focused diagnostic engagement. Inside that window we map the highest-friction process with real baselines, force discovery of the non-obvious wedge, deliver one measured quick win the client can see and operate before the diagnostic ends, and leave a ranked roadmap that sequences the next highest-leverage moves.
The quick win creates reciprocity. Continued engagement becomes the natural next step — not a new sales conversation. Scope and fit are determined in discussion, not from a packaged offer.
Capabilities
Four ways the wedge shows up. Proven inside the first engagement.
The move that wasn't in the top five
Diagnostic-led AI systems, decision infrastructure, and agent workflows — engineered so human judgment and machine capability produce outcomes neither reaches alone. Near-term work starts with literacy and a measured quick win; platforms follow when the wedge demands them.
Reframe what the board contains
The first concrete prototype of a Level 78 wedge is the real-estate internal gig marketplace (ReAgentGigs): income volatility inverted into a retention and capacity advantage neither side of the brokerage had seen as possible. AI shaped both the concept and the operating tools. Additional technical demonstrations, such as real-time investment screening that collapses weeks of analysis into minutes, are available on request.
Complexity is the opportunity
Process re-architecture and intelligent automation that collapses cycle times and reduces variability — practical, vendor-neutral, measurable. The same judgment pattern that cut multi-day semiconductor and design-automation processes to minutes now applies to non-tech SMB operations.
Force limitations to resign
Market positioning and technology-led advantage when standard playbooks fail — for owners and operators with real authority who need the non-obvious wedge, not another strategy deck.
Engage
Most AI advice is generic literacy or a vendor pitch. We map the friction, find the wedge, deliver one measured win, and leave a ranked roadmap.
If that matches the pressure you feel, talk. We'll say whether an engagement fits.
